Secrets of the Third Reich

Secrets of the Third Reich
28mm WWII Superscience

SECRETS OF THE THIRD REICH

IN JUNE 1944 HISTORY TOOK A DIFFERENT PATH.

ON JUNE THE 4TH 1944 THE ALLIES INVADED NORTHERN FRANCE. ALL WENT ACCORDING TO PLAN.

ON THE EVENING OF 17TH JULY, BRITISH ARMOURED UNITS PREPARED FOR OPERATION ''GOODWOOD''. THE EASTERN SKY WAS LIT BY FIRE AS ALLIED BOMBS FELL ON THE CITY OF CAEN. LOOKING UP YOU WOULD HAVE BARELY NOTICED THE ARCING TRAILS OF SMOKE CURVING INTO THE NIGHT SKY.

THROUGH OUT THAT NIGHT AND FOR MANY DAYS TO COME THE V3 MISSILES RAINED DOWN ON THE ALLIED BRIDGEHEAD. HIGH EXPLOSIVE WARHEADS WREAKED HAVOC AMONGST THE CONCENTRATED ARMOURED UNITS BUT HIDDEN AMONGST THIS BOMBARDMENT THERE WAS SOMETHING MORE SINISTER. ON THIS DAY THE THIRD GENEVA CONVENTION WAS BROKEN. EVERY TENTH ROCKET SHELL CONTAINED A NERVE AGENT KNOWN AS ''VENGANCE GAS''.

V-GAS WAS UNLIKE ANY GAS WEAPON USED BEFORE, IT CONTAINED AN ACTIVE BIOLOGICAL FACTOR. A BACTERIUM, WHICH WHEN DISSIPATED IN WATER COURSES WOULD MULTIPLY RAPIDLY. AS THE V-BACTERIUM BREAKS DOWN IT CREATES THE V-GAS, A NERVE TOXIN AKIN TO MUSTARD GAS AFFECTING THE LUNGS, EYES AND SKIN. THERE WERE MANY CASUALTIES.

THE BRIDGEHEAD HELD. THE GERMANS HAD MISCALCULATED. V-GAS WAS A WEAPON OF DESPERATION A LAST ROLL OF THE DICE.

V-GAS WAS AN INDISCRIMINATE KILLER AND CASUALTIES WERE ALSO HIGH ON THE GERMAN SIDE. TIME WAS ON THE SIDE OF THE AXIS. AS THE FRONT LINES STABILISED MORE AND MORE GERMAN UNITS FROM THE PAS DE CALAIS MOVED WEST. WHILE IN THE SOUTH THE AMERICANS MET THE UNEXPECTED.

THE ALLIED BREAKOUT.
16TH AUGUST 1944. AS THE AMERICAN DIVISIONS BEGAN THEIR MOVEMENT SOUTH THEY ENCOUNTERED UNEXPECTED RESISTANCE AND NEW GERMAN WEAPONRY.

ULTRA HAD FAILED. NO HINT OF THESE WEAPONS HAD BEEN REVEALED TO THE ALLIES. MECHANISED WALKING MACHINES THREE STORIES TALL HAMMERED THE ALLIES BACK. JET FIGHTERS CONTESTED THE SKIES WITH SPITFIRES AND TYPHOONS.

Panzer Mecha hardcore!

Tannhäuser: Edição Inglesa

Boas noticias.

Fantasy Flight Games (FFG) announced today that they will be releasing the English-Language version of the popular Tannhäuser board game, recently published in France by Take On You Ltd.

“We have been interested in Tannhäuser for quite some time,” said John Grams, Business Development Manager for Fantasy Flight Games. “We feel it fits right in with the larger family of FFG’s games.”

Set in an alternate-history version of 1949 where the Great War never ended, Tannhäuser features small squads of troops of the “Army of the Union” in their attempts to track down and stop the Reich’s “Obscura Korps”, who use a mixture of technology and occult magic to further the cause of the Fatherland. Tannhäuser blends together alternate history, science fiction, and magic to create a wholly original game world.

Tannhäuser is the first game to utilize the revolutionary “Pathfinding System” – a game mechanic that uses colored circles on the game board that aid players in determining both movement and line-of-sight, making combat resolution quick and simple. Tannhäuser features a double-sided game board featuring two different maps, character cards and counters, and 10 fully-painted 35mm miniatures representing both sides.

In 1949, this incessant war has been raging for 35 years and finally a secret archaeological dig has delivered to the Obscura Korps a long sought ancient relic. This artifact is thought to guard an ancient parcel of knowledge. The exact emplacement of one of the four dark cardinal corners or reality is on the verge of being revealed.

A portal leading to hell, this un-sanctified zone is found buried within the secular crypt of a fortress situated in the heart of central Europe. The Reich's 13th Occult Division is there now. They are about to call upon the Cohorts of Chaos to help them force the world into eternal servitude.
Parachuted behind enemy lines, a fistful of men and women are all the Union has left to thwart this peculiar menace. The Unions finest trained commandos armed with technology still in its experimental stages, the glory bound 42nd Alter-Marine Special Forces must now face the most terrible danger to face humanity in recorded history.

Tannhäuser goes beyond the standard package of set of characters, proposing a vast array of customization, allowing players to develop a unique tactic and style of play for their hero. 10 charismatic personalties await them to be groomed for battle, using over 70 magnificently illustrated types of tokens that faithfully depict various weapons, medals, ranks, powers and equipment.

    - Um tabuleiro de jogo, com frente e verso;

    - Um livro de regras, a cores (nesta edição, em francês);

    - 2 dados de 10 faces;

    - 10 fichas de personagens;

    - 10 figuras pintadas, representando as personagens;

    - 162 marcadores.

GEAR KRIEG - Two-Fisted Pulp Superscience in a World at War! http://www.dp9.com/Worlds/GK.htm
  • 1920s Development of the "Mechanical Walking Suspension" by J. Walter Christie;
  • 1930s Germans copy Christie's walking machines under the peaceful guise of their 'Landwirtschaftlicher Arbeiter' ('Agricultural Worker') experiments;
  • 1934 The world's first true walking machine revealed at the Nuremberg Rally;
  • 1936 The PzK III armored walker presented at the Berlin Olympic Games;
  • 1939 The first successful American walkers are showcased at the World's Fair "Futurama" pavilion;
  • 1939 German Panzerkämpfer cross into Poland. The Second World War has begun.
The world would indeed have been a different place had the Roaring Twenties not delivered the wonders promised by visionaries. Instead, war walkers now stride across the battlefield of Europe, huge supertanks thunder over North Africa, rocket fighters duel high above the Pacific, adventurers and superspies battle the Nazi forces in the shadows and scientists work feveriously in their laboratories to perfect the next doomsday weapon for their masters. Powered by advanced science, will the darkness of fascism spread across the world, or can brave men and women prevent it? Gear Krieg is Dream Pod 9’s alternate history WWII game.
