Tannhäuser: Edição Inglesa

Boas noticias.

Fantasy Flight Games (FFG) announced today that they will be releasing the English-Language version of the popular Tannhäuser board game, recently published in France by Take On You Ltd.

“We have been interested in Tannhäuser for quite some time,” said John Grams, Business Development Manager for Fantasy Flight Games. “We feel it fits right in with the larger family of FFG’s games.”

Set in an alternate-history version of 1949 where the Great War never ended, Tannhäuser features small squads of troops of the “Army of the Union” in their attempts to track down and stop the Reich’s “Obscura Korps”, who use a mixture of technology and occult magic to further the cause of the Fatherland. Tannhäuser blends together alternate history, science fiction, and magic to create a wholly original game world.

Tannhäuser is the first game to utilize the revolutionary “Pathfinding System” – a game mechanic that uses colored circles on the game board that aid players in determining both movement and line-of-sight, making combat resolution quick and simple. Tannhäuser features a double-sided game board featuring two different maps, character cards and counters, and 10 fully-painted 35mm miniatures representing both sides.

WizKids: Star Wars PocketModel

WizKids Inc., a subsidiary of Topps and the creator of runaway hit games such as HeroClix and Pirates of the Spanish Main, announced today that it will release a new collectable game called the Star Wars PocketModel trading card game (TCG). The agreement is an expansion of Topps’ current licensing agreement with Lucas Licensing.

“The Topps Company and Lucas Licensing have enjoyed a successful 30-year licensing partnership and are proud to extend our license to include trading card games,” said Ira Friedman, Topps vice president of Publishing and Licensing.

The Star Wars PocketModel TCG combines the best features of classic TCGs with those of constructible strategy games (CSGs), a category that WizKids pioneered for kids. This TCG innovation allows players to use characters and action scenes from the movies on their cards to help control their fleets of PocketModel ships as they attempt to destroy each other’s objectives. This exciting, easy-to-learn game derives its content from all six Star Wars movies, making it possible for fans of all generations to enjoy battling for control of the galaxy!

“Topps trading cards were the very first Star Wars–licensed products,” said Howard Roffman, president of Lucas Licensing. “We are pleased to expand our longstanding relationship with Topps to include both WizKids and trading card game products. We are excited for Star Wars fans because there has never been a product quite like this before.”

Following in the tradition of WizKids’ successful Pirates CSG, no Starter is required for game play. Each Game Pack (SRP $4.99) contains four to eight styrene constructible vehicle models, six game cards, two micro dice, assembly instructions and complete rules.

“It is a privilege to be given the opportunity to create trading card games for a property with the history and popularity of Star Wars. Our first directive has been to develop a truly innovative card game that young Star Wars fans can enjoy,” said Lax Chandra, WizKids president. “The excitement generated by kids during our testing of the PocketModel TCG has exceeded our expectations on all accounts.”

The Star Wars PocketModel TCG is expected to be released at retail in June 2007, with a preview and samples available at Star Wars Celebration IV, May 24–28 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Sales inquiries may be directed to WizKids’ director of Sales, Dennis OBrien, at (425) 460-4311, or via e-mail at dennis@wizkidsgames.com.

WizKids: Halo ActionClix

WIZKIDS ANNOUNCES
HALO ACTIONCLIX COLLECTABLE MINIATURES GAME

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WizKids Inc., creator of runaway hit games like HeroClix® and Pirates of the Spanish Main™, announced today its agreement with Bungie Studios and Microsoft to develop a new collectable miniatures game (CMG) called Halo® ActionClix™.

The Halo ActionClix CMG brings the incredible content of the Halo universe to the tabletop via the award-winning Clix miniatures game engine. Players familiar with HeroClix and HorrorClix™ will be able to jump right into the action and enjoy brand-new game mechanics, including weapon swaps, figure respawning and vehicle-based combat.

“Expanding the Halo universe into the Clix CMG world is a perfect fit for the franchise,” said Brian Jarrard, director of Franchise and Community Affairs at Bungie Studios. “WizKids’ commitment to quality and authentic detail ensures that these new Halo ActionClix figures will appeal to collectors and CMG players alike.”

The first Halo ActionClix set will feature more than 80 unique miniature figures from the Halo universe, including preview content from Halo 3. A number of vehicle packs are also being produced, including a big surprise planned for San Diego Comic-Con this July. Figures will be sold in randomized Booster Packs. The vehicles and a Starter Game will be sold in a diorama display format.

“We are proud to be associated with a great brand like Halo ,” said Lax Chandra, WizKids® president. “We are always looking for ways to push the envelope with our games and content. The phenomenal Halo video game play and universe provided us with an excellent spring board for innovation in tabletop miniatures gaming. We are very excited about this release.”

The Halo ActionClix CMG is expected to be released at retail in September 2007, with special Prerelease figures available at San Diego Comic-Con July 26 – 29, and at Gen Con Indy August 16 – 19. A&A Naval Miniatures: Previews e Quick Start

E conforme prometido, com o inicio desta semana a Wizards of the Coast colocou online as primeiras previews das miniaturas Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures, e parecem bastante interessantes à primeira vista.

Opening Salvo: War at Sea
Part 1 - The Miniatures Behind the Stats

Axis and Allies Naval Miniatures: War at Sea hits the waves on March 26th, 2007. Starting next week, we will begin previewing new miniatures along with historical background and game play advice for each previewed piece. On March 5th, we will make the Advanced Rulebook available so that players can get a complete look at the rules behind the game.

To get things started, today we are previewing the images of miniatures that have already had their stats spoiled on the War at Sea product page and in the Quickstart Rules. If you haven't read the Quickstart Rules, now is your chance.

USS Enterprise

Bismarck

USS Iowa

HMAS Canberra

Opening Salvo: War at Sea
Player Quick Start Guide

Dive bombers scream down from the skies, zeroing in on enemy flattops. Battleships blast away with their enormous guns, hurling shells weighing thousands of pounds. Submarines skulk beneath the sea, looking for the chance to fire their deadly torpedoes. To this day, the desperate chase of the Bismarck, the heroic defense of Malta, the defeat at Pearl Harbor, the unlikely victory at Midway, and the long, bitter struggle against the U-boat menace still remind us of the courage and perseverance of countless sailors, airmen, and submariners sixty years ago.

The Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures game is a hard-hitting, action-packed way for you to fight out these furious naval battles on your own kitchen table. Technology, industrial power, and above all human courage decided the fate of the world between 1939 and 1945. Now your skill, luck, and audacity can do the same. With the Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures game, you take command of fleets including powerful battleships, stealthy submarines, fast destroyers, and deadly aircraft. Victory goes to the commander who most skillfully combines air, surface, and submarine assets into a single deadly instrument of sea power.

You can use the Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures game in three ways:

  • Play using the competitive Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures rules found in the rule book.
  • Recreate historical naval battles and find out whether you could have won if you had been in command.
  • Collect the detailed and historically accurate World War II-era fighting ships, submarines, and aircraft represented by the prepainted plastic miniatures.

Axis and Allies Naval Miniatures - War at Sea, doesn't hit store shelves until March 2007. Previews will begin sometime in late January 2007, but until then, you can keep yourself busy by reading the Quick Start Guide. The Quick Start Guide gives you the basic rules, plus an early view of miniatures and stat cards.

GP2X: Bolsa Oficial

Novas Tintas Games Workshop
